Manish Arora Wonder

 MANISH ARORA
 Spring 2013

Manish Moon

By far one of my favorite designers. I appreciate when deisgners come up with a theme and concept when it comes to their collection, but somehow Manish Arora takes it to another level. His attention to details are impeccable. I know summer is a few weeks away, but I cannot get enough of his Spring 2013 collection. So beautiful.

Rainbow Sorbet

Ever wonder why people wear what they do? Ever wonder what made them go into the closet and pick that specific top/sweater? Would people still wear what they do if it were not for blogs or instagram? I can honestly say I have been dressing this way since before high school; because this is the real me. If people from high school were questioned today about me, I am certain they would say the same thing "That girl with long curly red hair, who dresses crazy." I would ask them to define "crazy". Either way call it what you like; this is me. I love color and when I get dressed I do not think of what colors match; rather what color is missing. That is just how my mind works when it comes to fashion/color and patterns..oxox How has your style changed since high school?

Ah...the 80's

Sincerely, The Breakfast Club!

Sincerely, The Breakfast Club! by painthead featuring white gold jewelry

Ah, The 80's where Love was a battle field and Bananarama had a cruel summer.
I was a teeny tiny little girl during the 80's, so I guessed I lived through the 80's, but cannot recall any of it; beside my toys and music. I was to little to remember anything esle. I wish my mom and older sister still had all their 80's rags. The 80's have become the "new" 70's. People are having parties in this theme or if anything is found from the 80's it is already considered "vintage". Either way, this decade was unique as all decades before and after, but something about the 80's was very special. Music was an art, no gimmicks; just style and singing. Movies had the best story line and sound tracks. Simple Minds said it best, "Don't you forget about Me" during the unforgettable "The Breakfast Club" movie.
So happy we haven't. What is your favorite decade?

Phillip Lim for Target

Target has been really stepping it up lately with their designer collaborations. We saw how Missoni, Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung teamed up with the bulls eye giant and now we'll have 3:1 Phillip Lim added to the amazing list. This collection will launch Septemeber 15th, 2013. Exciting!

Evolving your fall wardrobe just got a whole lot easier. Target has collaborated with designer Phillip Lim on an exclusive collection for women and men. Available Sept. 15 at most Target stores in the U.S. and Canada, and at Target.com, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target features a range of apparel and accessories, including shoes, bags and travel accessories.
Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution,” says Lim. “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire—one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.”
3.1 Phillip Lim for Target embodies Lim’s philosophy that clothing is meant to refine, not define. Rooted in a classic fall palette of neutral tones and prints, the collection features more than 100 items and ranges in price from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $59.99 for accessories. Standout pieces include a trench coat for women and a leather moto jacket for men.
“Phillip is a designer we’ve had our eye on for years,” says Trish Adams, senior vice president, Merchandising. “His aesthetic is modern and sophisticated, and he shares Target’s vision of democratizing design.”
Since the debut of the 3.1 Phillip Lim label, which he cofounded with friend and fabric supplier Wen Zhou, in 2005 at New York Fashion Week, Lim’s designs have received praise from editors, celebrities and critics for their easy, chic and youthful elegance. Throughout the years, Lim has won many notable awards and developed a following of notable celebrity supporters, including Kate Hudson, Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley.

MY JOHN HUGHES OF FASHION xoxox

Sorry I have taken long in posting my Day trip to NYC last week. I do not post during the weekends because I like to spend my time with family and friends or doing other things that I enjoy in life; but instagraming is another story *wink*

A few months before I was invited to attend Dana Maxx Fall 2013 press release ; I fell upon an awesome, fashionable guy on instagram named Micah Jess. Turns out MJ is a celebrity fashion blogger and TV personality, who like myself adores Betsey Johnson. During the Dana Maxx event guess who walked in? Why Micah Jess. I recognized him right away and introduced myself and after a while our conversation went betsey-ified. MJ asked if I liked Betsey and invited me to come out to this magical event. This event took place May 16th @ MACY's in Herald Square. It was open to anyone so I had to wait in line like everyone else. I did not mind because I was going to meet My John Hughes of Fashion BETSEY JOHNSON once again xoxo My first encounter HERE!

I arrived super early with my niece and I am glad I did because I was able to take photos of Betsey's new dress collection for Macy's. Also, this was Betsey Johnson's first public appearance since her show hit the air on the style network. Micah kept the night going with background beats from celebrity DJ Kalkutta as we waited patiently. Then there she was, MY JOHN HUGHES OF FASHION. As we waited our turn, we were handed a complimentary BJ tote bag with a mirror. We were all asked to place our belongings, camera and cell phones in the totes, because they wanted their photographer to be the only one taking the photos; to keep the line moving. I did not mind because I was getting a print-out of the picture. Awwww MY JOHN HUGHES oF FASHION was so sweet and happy to see me, not sure if it was due to the many colors I had on or she noticed her Lobster necklace I was wearing...oxox I squeezed her so tight and wanted to take her home with me. I know this is not the end, I'll meet her again and next time it will be at her fashion show or out to lunch. Either way I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to meet her again. What a special moment in the fashion world and here I was a part of it somehow.
