MM World

M&M's - History

M&M's were created in 1940 after Forrest Mars Sr. saw Spanish soldiers eating chocolate pellets coated in sugar during the Spanish Civil War, to prevent the soldiers from gaining sticky hands after eating chocolate. M&M's were first sold in the United States in 1941. By World War II, American soldiers were given the candy by the United States Army; soon after this it was marketed to the public. The candies were named for "Mars & Murrie" (Mars' business partner was Bruce Murrie, son of rival Milton S. Hershey's partner William Murrie.) M&M's soon became a hit because, in those times when air conditioning was not usually found in stores, homes, or the automobile, melting chocolate candy bars were a problem; but in M&M's, the candy's coating kept the chocolate from getting messy
.

M&M's are so pretty when they are put together. Just about the only Rainbow u can really eat beside Skittles, lol, they also make me wanna write in different color fonts. M&M's World are huge stores all about these yummy candies.
One in Orlando Fla., Las Vegas and of course Broadway in NY. I want to visit them all. Oh an check those M&M's girls, aren't they the cutest?LOL.

Marquis and Camus

PhotobucketEstablished in the fall of 2006 in New York City, Marquis & Camus revisits the past creating a collection that offers a truly unique look into the future of remixed couture. The vintage pieces are timeless, characterized by their excellence, maturity and enduring appeal, accompanied by only the finest modern materials often making them uniquely one of a kind.

The Marquis & Camus collection resurfaces antiquated treasures of the past and marries their exquisiteness with the charms of handmade flowers, hand died silk bias ribbon, Swarovski crystals, bows, lace, and the boldness of chains and genuine leather. Each piece features authentic vintage items, such as bow ties, pocket watches, chandelier crystals, suspenders, cameos, lockets, watch movements, keys, charms, chains, buttons, pendants and pins, which are carefully handpicked from esta
te sales, auctions and flea markets. The classic appeal of each piece is enhanced by sterling silver, brass, silver-plated and gold filled materials. The Marquis & Camus products are sophisticated and complicated, and handled by skilled bench workers in New York. ( from their site).

I love their items, to me the best i have seen in a long time. They are edgy, grungy, daring and fabulous. I wish i can own a few pieces, but for now i can enjoy them through poly and make sets with them. 0x0x0

Pimp My Rubber Duckie

Rubber Ducky Your The one!

Back in the 1970's Jim Henson creator of The Muppets, wrote and performed a song called "Rubber Duckie". That song made Mr Duckie more popular then ever. I'm sure we all had a rubber duckie while growing up, our favorite bath toy,aww how we try to submerge him in water , but he just floats back up, lol. Our little Rubber friend has become and American pop Culture icon, so bright and yellow. Now made in many colors and cool characters. I wish i could attend the Rubber Duck Fest 09 in NY this July 25th @1pm.Rubber Duckie Heaven, if u think u wanna go RSVP here duckfest2009@duckplanet.com
Duckplanet.com is ran and owned by Charlotte Lee, who holds the World's largest Rubber Duckie Collection, 2,583...WHOA, thats a lot of duckies.

For The Love Of Art!

For the Love of Art
I figured since i love art so much, why not make a few post once in a while about my love..lol. The Philadelphia Art Museum is having an exhibit on Cezanne. I cannot wait to see it, So i can stand there in front of his master pieces and droll over his brush strokes.cezanne Pictures, Images and Photos Last year i saw FRIDA, another awesome exhibit. I went dressed like her on purpose, with a bun ,flowers and my long earrings, many did a double look, and a little elderly women came to me and said "You look like frida" lol that was funny. I love going to the Art Museum, to see the pieces of artwork i have studied in class and see for my self first hand what is beautiful about each painting.

How can i forget VanGogh, my favorite of them all. His exhibit was the best. I wanted to hurry up and stand in front of the "The Sunflower". His brushstrokes and textures are beyond words. Vangogh, once the world thought of him to be crazy, is now considered a master painter, with genius strokes and not conforming to what was "normal" at that time.

"And my aim in my life is to make pictures and drawings, as many and as well as I can; then, at the end of my life, I hope to pass away, looking back with love and tender regret, and thinking, 'Oh, the pictures I might have made!'"
