Wendy's Salad Fun w/Polyvore

I received an invite from Polyvore to attend Wendy's Salad Collection roof top private party. This event was to … "enjoy the first tastes of summer with Wendy’s new seasonal salad – the Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad – and hear the hottest summer trends from style icon Molly Sims while overlooking New York City’s best views….celebrating the hottest season and Wendy's #NewSaladCollection Style Board contest in partnership with Polyvore."

The venue for this lovely event was the roof top of Rockefeller's Center. The weather was perfect, not just for the beautiful views, but to also enjoy a Wendy's salad picnic style. I loved the decor and pop of sunny sunflowers to reflect all the summer days ahead of us still. I will be honest and say I was never a fan of having fruits in my salads, but the combination of mixed greens, strawberries, blue cheese and dash of apple balsamic vinaigrette made this my favorite salad for the summer. I don't eat meat so I picked out the bacon and grilled chicken. To wash down the salad, we were all given the pleasure of drinking their strawberry lemonade. Ahhhhhhhh, the best and most refreshing drink i've had in a long time. *took one to go* ;)

Model, actress Molly Sims was present as spokes woman and judge for polyvore contest. She shared fashion tips and answered questions anyone may have had. And these are her words " I really love Polyvore" oxox. It was also nice seeing again polypals and meeting a few whom I've been friends with from the start, and now we finally meet. It's actually a surreal moment when we put a face to a screen name.

Fashion Week: Betsey Johnson SS/14

Just two weeks ago I was having a "Pretty in Pink" kind of night; remembering John Hughes by watching his movies. Today (9/11/13) during Betsey Johnson's SS/2014 Fashion Show the second song that played was the soundtrack from John Hughes movie "Pretty in Pink". I could not believe my ears, it made the show extra special and meaningful because to me Betsey Johnson is my John Hughes of Fashion. What a moment, to see BJ's show for the first time and hear a John Hughes sountrack. The show was everything I hoped it to be and more. The place was packed from one side to the other and here I was part of this great moment. Where time seem to stand still and everyone gets Betseyified. The models came out having fun and being playful with the photographer's and crowd. The music was great and everyone was in party mode all the sudden.

The collections palette was mostly pale pink, some leopard prints and of course her signature tutu dresses. Also, the models wore large hoops earrings and gold chains with a simple "Betsey" written across. Their lipsticks were in pastel colors: baby blue, yellow, pale pink. I've been seeing baby blue being used a lot during this season. Maybe that will be the next big color.

And of course I want to thank POLYVORE who got the invites for both Betsey Johnson and Anna Sui. To be able to attend any show is beyond amazing. It was an honor to be a polyvore community correspondant. I'm still pitching myself ;)

MY JOHN HUGHES OF FASHION xoxox

Sorry I have taken long in posting my Day trip to NYC last week. I do not post during the weekends because I like to spend my time with family and friends or doing other things that I enjoy in life; but instagraming is another story *wink*

A few months before I was invited to attend Dana Maxx Fall 2013 press release ; I fell upon an awesome, fashionable guy on instagram named Micah Jess. Turns out MJ is a celebrity fashion blogger and TV personality, who like myself adores Betsey Johnson. During the Dana Maxx event guess who walked in? Why Micah Jess. I recognized him right away and introduced myself and after a while our conversation went betsey-ified. MJ asked if I liked Betsey and invited me to come out to this magical event. This event took place May 16th @ MACY's in Herald Square. It was open to anyone so I had to wait in line like everyone else. I did not mind because I was going to meet My John Hughes of Fashion BETSEY JOHNSON once again xoxo My first encounter HERE!

I arrived super early with my niece and I am glad I did because I was able to take photos of Betsey's new dress collection for Macy's. Also, this was Betsey Johnson's first public appearance since her show hit the air on the style network. Micah kept the night going with background beats from celebrity DJ Kalkutta as we waited patiently. Then there she was, MY JOHN HUGHES OF FASHION. As we waited our turn, we were handed a complimentary BJ tote bag with a mirror. We were all asked to place our belongings, camera and cell phones in the totes, because they wanted their photographer to be the only one taking the photos; to keep the line moving. I did not mind because I was getting a print-out of the picture. Awwww MY JOHN HUGHES oF FASHION was so sweet and happy to see me, not sure if it was due to the many colors I had on or she noticed her Lobster necklace I was wearing...oxox I squeezed her so tight and wanted to take her home with me. I know this is not the end, I'll meet her again and next time it will be at her fashion show or out to lunch. Either way I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to meet her again. What a special moment in the fashion world and here I was a part of it somehow.
