Venexiana Spring/Summer 2015: New York Fashion Week

It's bittersweet sorrow thinking summer has come to an end, but it is also exciting because that means New York fashion week begins. This season started on Sept 4th and will run until Sept 11th. On Saturday Sept 6th 2014, I had the privilege of attending Venexiana Spring/Summer 2015 fashion show during Mercedes Fashion week in NY. I was invited and accepted without a second thought.
This collection was filled with future red carpet looks for the Emmy's and Oscars. One can only hope more stylist would dress the stars in these beautiful Venexiana gowns.

Although I did not have an assigned seat, I was very happy where I ended up.
I ended up sitting on the floor next to the media photographers. These guys/gals are cool. They eat chocolate and red bull for lunch and kind of dress the same. They have a world within the fashion world. Mingling outside the seats becomes the best part of it all. You leave making "friends" who were on the same mission as you; that is to take photos and enjoy the show, even if it means you have to sit on the floor. I was truly happy to attend this show and to be up close to the models. I was able to see all the details on each gown.

In this collection you will see the mermaid silhouette, plunging necklines, open backs, one shoulder, beaded gowns with sequins and preciosa crystals. There was no holding back on the shimmer. Colors: Dusty rose, soft yellow, aqua, aquamarine, lilac, periwinkle, gold and black. Enjoy!

Starry Starry Night

There's nothing more beautiful then seeing a fashion designer be inspired by one of my favorite artist: Vincent Van Gogh. I speak of Mattijs, who's fall 2014 collection during MBFW in Amsterdam was inspired by Van Gogh's colors and subjects(sunflower, Iris) Van Gogh's images were blown up to create abstract prints and patterns. I love the mood and scenary that was created as well along the runway. It truly captured what a Van Gogh painting brings to the viewer, especially the mood when gazing at the colors he typically used: Raw umber, raw sienna, olive green, chrome yellow, vermillion, prussian blue, china blue, emerald green, red lake and black.

Here's to another Year: '2014'

HAPPY NEW YEARS: 2014

HAPPY NEW YEARS: 2014 by painthead featuring modern home decor

A new year is approaching, more quickly then I would want, but why should I be afraid of a "New Year"? A new year to me means a new beginning. A fresh start for any ideas, and goals that were left behind in 2013. Or perhaps any dreams left abandon. I cannot complain at all about this past year(2013). If anything I feel this past year has brought me a few fashion adventures in which I am very thankful for. Adventures I will never forget. One adventure included two of the most awesome fashion shows: Betsey Johnson's and Anna Sui's Spring 2014 collections during New York Fashion Week.

Another fashionable adventure was meeting Dana Maxx during her "Made in NYC" fall/13' press release along side Ben Amun by Issac Manevitz. That same day I visited Polyvore's NYC office.
What a year. I like to reflect back through the year, however, I'm not one to sit and wallow at the things I did not do or should of done. I believe everyone is at a place in their lives because it's their timing to be there. I feel my timing will come, to be able to fully breathe and live in fashion. When will that time be? I'm not certain, but I know giving up will not make it happen. If you have a dream, go for it. Time to dust off those stilettos full of glitter and star dust.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE. HERE's TO '2014' oxox

Hey you….

Where have I been? I stated before I am working on a new layout for my tiny blogger. My goal for the new year is to have a new look. So why not blog until then? I guess I can, nothing really stopping me to blog. I'll just blame it on outside and how it gets dark to soon. It's going to be Christmas ALREADY again. Where does the time go? Is it me or once you get older time just flies by? Anyhow, I do love Christmas, it is my favorite time of the year. I'm not sure what colors I will use to decorate my tree, but having green and red is a must. Or maybe i'll leave it completely bare. Not sure why I would do such a thing, but that is exactly my point. I'll leave it bare because I can. But of course that won't happen. I'll make sure to post some pictures.

I'll leave you now with some more fashionable editorials. I've posted these before in my blog, but because I love this editorial so much I wanted to repost.
