 I first came upon Marina Makaron Moscow designs when I attended Philly's Fashion Week back in February. Marina's collection was one of my favorites, and it's no surprise why...color! I was invited to attend Marina's "Cupcakes and Couture" event last night. It was a night filled with cocktails, city lights and whimsey. The models wore pieces from her Fall/Winter 2013 collection. This collection was full of bold colors, patterns and trademark texile design. The showroom was transformed into another world, one where you can change your name to Alice and be part of a whimsical world full of cupcakes and giant lollipops; or you can be a russian princess in a magical castle in moscow playing dress up with glamorous, elegant garments.

 Since Philly's Fashion Week Marina and I have become "insta-friends" and colorful comrades. Even with such success as showing her collection during Russia's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2013 (March 29- April 2) she remains humble and is just the cutest thing ever. And her own personnel style is amazing. She's seriously on my "raid your closet" wish list.

Crayon Box! Emerald

Emerald City

Incase you have been casted away and speak to a ball named wilson, Pantone's color of the year is Emerald. My dress below is emerald, but the flash made it look teal...eeek! Either way Emerald is a very beautiful green; it is an elegant color and rich.

Emerald is also known to encourage: spiritual growth, clear vision, memory, faith, intelligence and communication, inspiration, joy, intuition, clairvoyance, sensuality, love, romance, beauty, harmony, tranquility, serenity, clarity, cleansing, justice, friendship and unity. 

With this outfit I was inspired by the land of OZ, but time traveled into the 1920's. I also wore my Dana Maxx tights. These tights were in my goodie tote bag from the Dana Maxx and BenAmun Fall 2013 Press release event I attended to kick off Fashion Week(feb 2013) . I also wore my BenAmun earrings, which were also in the goodie bag. And what's with my cat Luna wanting to be in the picture?

Crayon Box: Light Blue

Once In a Blue Moon!

Blue is such a calming color. It always brings me serenity and peace, especially when I sit in a blue waiting room at the Dr.'s office; the wait seems more pleasant..ah! I love how Blue can go with just about any other color. I also like to pair up my blue's with red, greens and oranges; blue pops out more againt these colors and these color combinations are known to awaken artistic expression.

But my question regarding BLUE is, Why isn't there any trees full of Blue leaves in the fall? A magical question i'll probably never get an answer to.

Speaking of BLUE, this lovely Light Blue Baroque dress from Romwe is one of my favorite rags in my closet. I know, I know baroque is now a thing of the fall, but I do not see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. Below are two looks of me wearing this dress..xoxo

Crayon Box: Yellow!

MELLOW YELLOW

Yellow is such a beautiful color, it is pleasant and "happy". Yellow is known to cheer people up, and promote optimism. Well no wonder I was so sure today I would come across a Marc Jacobs Diet coke can, but I did not...wah! Yellow is also associated with jealousy and envy. The only thing I envy is how yellow can mix with red and make orange. Yellow is also one of the colors recommended to ease depression during the winter months; when all you see is darkness quickly approaching before you even get home from work..ugh! Spring oh spring, hurry up and come.

Circus Dreams: Crayon Box!

"Mira, tu! Why do you have so many colors on? Are you a clown?" Those lovely words came from a patient at work yesterday. Maybe a few years agos I would of want to jump and choke the poor guy, but it was actually music to my ears. I was not offended; if anything I took it as a compliment.  From time to time there's always a relasped childhood memory of me wanting to run away with the circus. For now i'll just wait until the circus comes to town; which they always do during April. xoxo
