Ever see a fashion editorial and wish you were a part of it? Well this "W" magazine spread from October 2013 does that to me. It's beautiful in every way. It's a modern day Marie Antoinette turned punk. I've been MIA for a few days, but not because i've abandoned my tiny blog, but because I am currently working on a new look for it ....so stay tune. If you're a Bird.....

 If Allie and Noah from the The Note Book were specific in stating what "bird" they would be, i'm pretty sure it would be a flamingo. Ok maybe not, but what other bird would they want to be? A seagull? Flamingos are elegant, interesting to look at and lets not forget very PINK. It's no wonder the fashion world has taken inspiration from these long legged beauties. I've been searching far and wide for anything flamingo, but I have had no luck. I will continue my search because I know one will fly my way either in the shape of a handbag, ring or lovely summer printed dress.  Below are some awesome rockable flamingo rags.

Shades Of You!

If you know me, you know i LOVE color. I love to study color. What it's symbolism,history and culture difference within one color. Believe it or not color plays an important part of our every day lives and choices. It even affects what we buy and why. Some people shop by color. People's moods are even affected by color. For example, to some people the color Yellow is depressing, while to another the color Yellow is peaceful and can mean spirituality. Which is why the color Yellow was often used in religious paintings.

The color RED simulates your appetite, which is why most restaurants have RED as part of their decor. RED here in the western world represents power, love and romance. While in other parts of the world like asia, RED is evil and means death. BLUE does the opposite. It actually takes your appetite away, but to many it is a cool and calming color.

Green symbolism is Nature and Freshness. While in celtic myth it means fertility . Green is also the best color for a bride to wear in Japan. Because it means purity and not white like in the western world. White in Japan means mourning.

So whatever shades of pinks, blues, greens and purples you wear this lovely hot summer. Think of it's history and why you picked out the color. Every color has a story. What's yours?
