Fashion Week:Anna Sui SS/14

The second Fashion Show I attended was that of Anna Sui. Her collection was inspired by Pre-Raphaelite paintings and Psychedelic Posters from the 60's. This collection was indeed beautiful and the inspiration from both sources were clearly evident. Some of the models walked down with bright red orange hair, a trademark look in most Pre-Raphaelite paintings. Picture a modern day Dante Gabriel Rossetti's Ophelia walking around in New York rocking out to Jimi Hendrix

Dream a little Dream

You know your having a great week when you find an Oscar De La Renta blazer in the thrift shop. The price was $6.95, but because the tag was yellow, I got it for 50% off. Of course I did my happy dance and to top it off it's in green, my favorite color. The blazer is constructed and tailored so well.
That feeling of being luxurious in an Oscar blazer fell upon me..Ahhh! However, that feeling quicky faded when I had to take out the trash and do the dishes. Gotta love life ;)

Tomorrow I will be heading out to NYC for Fashion Week. Many have had the head start of already attending more shows then I can count on my hands, but just being able to attend one/two shows during any season is always a dream. I received an invite to attend Betsey Johnsons SS/14 and Anna Sui SS/14 by Polyvore. I seriously love polyvore so much and I am truly honored and thankful to get these invites. Next post will be a recap of the shows, so stay tune or you can follow the action live via

ReCap 2013: My Outfits

It is already September and in a few months we will be counting down the new year, as we see the ball drop in Time Square. Before the year is actually over, I wanted to recap some of my 2013 outfits. It is always good to reflect on life, goals and dreams even if it is not part of a resolution. I useto write my resolutions down, but stopped for a while. I recently found an old journal with goals and dreams I wrote as a teen. Some goals have come true, while others keep me still hoping. Either way, think back to the start of 2013, have any of your goals/dreams came true?

NYFW: Day Two

Seems like some of the designers were channeling their inner Beetle Juice swag, by incorporating black and white stripes in their designs. Stripes never get old by the way. In my opinion, it is a textile pattern that will go with any print. Still, as always, each designer distinguised themselves to provide a visiual buffet for the next big trends this coming Spring/ 2014. Just don't say Bettle Juice three times.

The trends I am seeing so far:
  • Red
  • White on White
  • Bold Geometric shapes
  • Ruffles
  • Stripes
  • Soft hints of lace
Color Palette:
  • Red,White, Teal, Baby Blue, electric Blue, soft pink and nudes
Make up:
  • Plum colored lipstick
  • Orange lipstick
  • Natural/Nude
