Star Lite, Rainbow Bright!

RAINBOW BRIGHT
I know I've stated before I do not blog on the weekends, but today I broke the rules. Because, well I guess I can *wink! Today was my niece Madison's Bowling Birthday Party, she turns 8 years old. Knowing ahead of time I would be surrounded by little girls, I channeled my "inner child" by wearing my Rainbow Bright tee. After the bowling party was over I went with my mommy to a thrift store. Inside that blue bag i'm holding is a very special skirt. Stay tune for it. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far...oxox

P.S
My tiny garden is growing so well. I will make a post with photos in the weeks to come.

"LUNCHABLE THREADS"
Curb your fashion appetite

My Birthday was on August 12th. I celebrated on the 13th, got three cakes, balloons and cool earrings from my sister and co-worker. And the best thing was a Bday card with a frog on the front wearing bright pink lipstick, blue eyeshadow and long lashes with diamonds.xoxo
So today's "Lunchable Threads" is my bday outfit. I wanted something funky, fun and of course bright. I went with a polka dot skirt, neon green tang top layered with a hot pink laced top.
orange leggings and blue heels. It was an 80's, punk, rainbow bright kind of outfit, but i was happy with how it turned out...la te da... Have fun, it's fashion ;)

In 1986 Hasbro released a Rock and Roll video fashion doll line called JEM. JEM was really Jerrica disguise by a hologram. JEM was the lead singer of JEM and the Holograms; the Holograms included Jerrica's sister Kimber, and foster sisters Aja and Shana. JEM and the Holograms competed against the Misfits (Pizzazz, Roxy, Stormer) and Eric Raymond for control of Starlight Music -- the studio Jerrica and Kimber's father created. This story line was revealed in Truly Outrageous! the movie, which was release in 1985, and seen in fifteen seven minute segments on Sunbow's Super Sunday/Super Saturday. These became five episodes in the JEM animated series, in 1986.

I love JEM. She is by far the original pinked haired glitter loving rock star scene girl. She's not real, but we have some people today that copy her look. She made the star symbol shine brighter, she made the tutu dress become stylish, she made the giant bow what it is today. There's even some rumors floating around, that there will be a movie on JEM. Since there was a success with G.I Joe and Transformers there are talks about making JEM into a movie..WHOA..i would love to work with the styling department on that one. So when you see girls rocking the tutu, glitter, stars, big bows etc, they are clearly inspired by JEM. Why wouldn't they be? Jem is truly outrageous!
