 I first came upon Marina Makaron Moscow designs when I attended Philly's Fashion Week back in February. Marina's collection was one of my favorites, and it's no surprise why...color! I was invited to attend Marina's "Cupcakes and Couture" event last night. It was a night filled with cocktails, city lights and whimsey. The models wore pieces from her Fall/Winter 2013 collection. This collection was full of bold colors, patterns and trademark texile design. The showroom was transformed into another world, one where you can change your name to Alice and be part of a whimsical world full of cupcakes and giant lollipops; or you can be a russian princess in a magical castle in moscow playing dress up with glamorous, elegant garments.

 Since Philly's Fashion Week Marina and I have become "insta-friends" and colorful comrades. Even with such success as showing her collection during Russia's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2013 (March 29- April 2) she remains humble and is just the cutest thing ever. And her own personnel style is amazing. She's seriously on my "raid your closet" wish list.

Dana-Maxx and Ben-Amun Launch Fall/Winter 2013 Collections at “Made in NY”

Dana-Maxx and Ben-Amun kicked off New York Fashion Week last night at “Made in NY” a preview of the up and coming apparel designer’s and established jewelry brand’s Fall/Winter 2013 collections in The New Yorker Penthouse Suite at The Carlton Hotel.    The event was hosted by Alicia Quarles of E! News who shared the spotlight with good friend Diem Brown of MTV’s The Real World fame turned People Magazine blogger who shared her fantastic news that she is now cancer free.  
  Also in attendance was Leslie Birkland, star of the Style Network’s docu-reality series Big Rich Texas and 13-year-old rising star Emma Kenney who plays Debbie on Showtime’s hit show Shameless who left the editor and blogger guests in attendance star struck!  Miss New York Teen USA Nikki Orlando showed off her crown and pride for her state while posing for pictures with guests who kept busy by tweeting and posting party pictures on Instagram.   
Guests toasted with strawberry infused Prosecco cocktails by Fragoli Liqueur and treated themselves to Dana-Maxx and Ben-Amun branded mini cupcakes by Sweet Generation.  Caravan Styling Studio provided a beauty bar for guests to pamper themselves with hair braids by Salon Grafix, eye shadows by Pop Beauty and lip stains by Daliia Cosmetics.  Manicures with the latest Fall colors were seen on the nails of guests thanks to Color Club before playing dress up in the chic styling suite with Dana-Maxx apparel and Ben-Amun jewelry.    

Models mingling throughout the suite showcased the Fall lines revealing the season’s latest looks including: capelets, cropped sweaters, car coats, equipment blouses and stylized dresses for designer Dana-Maxx Pomerantz’s ready-to-wear collection, while Isaac Manevitz, designer of Ben-Amun presented emerald green, textured gold, clean sculptural lines, and modern pearl statement pieces as trends to watch for the Fall season. Dana-Maxx and Ben-Amun are proud to be 100% made in New York City’s garment district.
