"LOVE" it

"LOVE" it
How I adore my "LOVE" necklace. This lovely spin-off from LANVIN /Fall 2013 is truly lovely. I'm not a fan of knock offs at all nor do I support purchasing a fake designer handbag in the black market, but I saw this necklace while shopping at Joyce Lesile and I fell in "LOVE" with it. Close to the real thing, yet I am certain the real thing is beyond words. Until then i'll enjoy my tiny necklace and pour all my LOVE into it. Did you find anything lovely this weekend?

That Guy Josh

Once a upon a time in a world where music sounded the same, I had an opportuniy to "preview" an album from a new artist named Josh Groban. A self titled album was soon due for release in 2001 , and a simple preview would determine a loyal listener.  I pressed "play" and heard "Alejate", since then I've been a fan Grobanite. At first I thought he was a spanish singer, but as I continued to hear his music, he also sang in italian and english. Ahhhhh music to my ears.
His albums are the only ones I look forward to and purchase. I've seen him three times in concert and on November 3, 2013 he is coming to Philly. I have my tickets already and cannot wait to go.  Josh does not disappoint, his voice is truly beautiful, pure and rare. He is one of those artist that sound the same on CD and live, that's how prefect his voice is. And he is kinda groofy and fun during his concerts so he is full of entertainment.

I wanted to pull a Kid President move and have Josh response to a tweet, if I ever make one, to see how I can score an interview, or go back stage like a totally gnarly grobanite, but I'd figure he'll have so many crazy people trying to get to him. So I will not tweet :( , maybe he'll tweet me, hahahahha ok ok just kidding. Instead I will go to the concert and enjoy it all.  One day i'll meet him. After all I did meet my John Hughes of Fashion, Betsey Johnson so anything is possible. What is your favorite Josh Groban song(s)?

Geometric Magic

I received a parcel from Persunmall, you might remember them from another post I did back in July.
What a way to continue into the fall with fun garmets. I adore this blouse, it reminds me of magic eye and if you stare at it any longer something will pop out at you. I already knew what I wanted to wear with it or should I say "other colors".  I knew I wanted pops of reds and orange somewhere and below
is the final result. Whenever you can stop by Persunmall and discover items no where else to be found. How would you style your Geometric pattern blouse?

Also I am loving the "POP" colored mascara from Rimmel. I got them at Rite Aid for $3.46 each.
They also carry purple and pink I believe or was it orange? Either way, get them while they are out.

Some Kind of Plaid

I'm not sure why this type of plaid makes me think of watts from John Hughes "Some kind of Wonderful". Watts is a tomboy who is best friends with Keith. Keith on the other hand is fixated with miss popular Amanda Jones. I won't ruin the movie incase you never seen it, but it is one of John Hughes movies that is under rated and does not get the praise it deserves.

On another note, i've been MIA for a few days....ooops! Been busy with homework(french and italian) but through out my day I often think of fashion and why I cannot wait to be "working" in it somehow.
Which is why I LOVE instagram, in the moment I can capture what ever inspires or moves me regarding fashion, art and colors. Incase you are ashamed for not following me yet on instagram, you can redeem yourself....tehe...by clicking here --------> My instagram!

Graffiti Movement

FOR: KREV, ERIO, XEROX, RUST, SERIOUS, ENER, COM, CHASE,
RAVE, WICKED: NSB( NON STOP BOMBING)

Once you enter into Philly you get a glimpse of this underground movement that has become a way of life to so many; "this" movement called Graffiti. At first it started as a political statement in the 60's here in Philly. Throughout time people wanted to gain recognition or local "fame" and so the idea of a "tag" was born. A quick tag with your nickname on a wall or stairway was a great way to make people guess or wonder "who is this person?".  Since it's early beginnings in the 60's, graffiti has come along way. Writers have developed their own styles, and a millions ways to write the letter "S" in so many fonts, shapes and sizes.  I grew up seeing my brothers and his friends become well known writers in Philly. It got to the point were people knew who I was because of my brothers and many wanted anything that may contain a bit of their writing style. My brother developed new styles which were copied in so many ways, but he was the original, so people knew where the idea came from.  He even taught me how to "tag" with a step by step guide.

With recognition came many drama and envy, yet my brother stood humble, but did not hesitate to bring out his scripto pen ready to do "battle". Battle is when one writer wants to go head on with another writer on paper, to see who has the best styles. There was another concept that took skills and intricate design; a "piece" or "throw up" as you see below. This idea became an art form in itself, full of color and entangled letters. You almost have to be some kind of maze wizard to decipher the name written. I take pleasure in knowing writers are called "Graffiti Artist" and that people are realizing this is an artform, an expression and it is being appreciated in so many ways. My brothers and their friends are "retired" so to speak, but remind legends in their own right. Love them all for being part of my growing up and being a Philly Girl.
