The Standard Hotel is really not your "standard" hotel. It's located smack in the middle of the meat packing district and this location is short from boring. The fashion scene is magical with shops like Alexander McQueen, DVF, Hugo Boss, Stella McCartney and more. If you look out your window at 4am people are walking around and taxi's are still in service. I finally used my prize i won in Polyvore last year. I went the weekend of labor day and what an awesome trip it was.
All the staff were nice, polite and very welcoming. To go in the hotel you have to spin through a funky yellow door, i don't know what those doors are called, but i call them funky, lol
The lobby itself is chic and modern. Simple, but stylish. After getting my key and room number i walked toward the elevators, which made me believe i was alice lost in mirror land. It was cool, with all those mirrors i went the wrong way a few times, but that is the fun part.

Straight to the 12th floor i headed. *Open's door* OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG, freaking awesome. I felt like a little kid in a giant, but tiny doll house. I quickly went to the window and saw the great view of the hudson river and the city line of Manhattan. I've heard of this awesome view and every word of it was true...SPEECHLESS.
Then i opened every thing, from the mini bar to the single toilet behind a door. The bathtub was my favorite. I imagined myself taking a bubble bath over looking the river at night, while all the pretty NewYork lights sparkled. I loved the hotel more when i saw COKE..lol

This was my first day there. I got to wear my Vivienne Tam dress, which i also won in a polyvore contest to dinner at Macelleria, that food was so good.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....prefect portion too. After dinner i went to the 18th floor of the standard, where there is a bar and club. The party does not start till 11pm -2am, but it was a holiday so it closed at 4am.
Went to sleep and had another adventure the next day. I will do a post on that tomorrow. It was nice seeing labels that are so often used in polyvore. I will write about the fashion there in another post as well.

Black Swan

Ballerina's are meant to be light, romantic, pure and delicate, but this
movie is about a ballerina (played by Natalie Portman) who struggles to remind the top
dancer and the preferred to lead. She becomes dark and things are twisted.
She's becoming the Black Swan. This movie will rock all senses. Can't wait to see it.
It comes out December 1, 2010, but i am hoping to get some screening pass for it.

Evening Post Outfit!

Hello cyber peeps. Anyone out there? lol. Well it's been very interesting working at a non art or fashion place, but it allows me to get creative with color. No i did not wear this to work. This was my sunday outfit. What's with me and sunday? LOL
I just love color and in my poly interview i described my style. I pick items not to match, but i pick them as a missing piece. Meaning, i see what color is missing and if the outfit needs a pop of color. Naturally i can look at an outfit and say "It needs something in green or orange" That's how i think when i get dressed, not to impress anyone or be considered and fashion guru. Anyhow i also love to mix pattern an texture.

THE LAST EXORCISM

OMG...you have to see this yummy of a honor flick. Tonight i saw a special screening of "The Last Exorcism". Right before the film started the director kindly told us that we are the few selected people to screen this movie first across the nation. Awww i feel speical..oxoxox This movie hits theaters on August 27, 2010. What an awesome dude..tehe
This movie is awesome. I love it's documentary style of filming. It's raw, unique and will make you jump with fear and suspense. I won't spoil it, but it's about a pastor who is very charismatic, sharp, sarcastic and a great bull crap seller of false hope in religion.
Pastor "Cotton" uses religion to benefit from people's pain and sorrows. He performs these exorcism as a way to make money and somehow making the victim think it's all in their heads.
You might at first think he is a jerk for taking advantage of the weak , but then you see him as human and see he has a family to care for as well. The cool thing is that although he is a Pastor, he has his own struggles in having faith in what he actually preaches. This film is one of those, Karma is a B and what goes around does come around. Cotton gets a taste of his own disbelief. Go out and see this when it hits theaters nation wide on August 27th..oxoxoox

But i give this 10 shinny yummy stars...you have to see this movie. Very ground breaking and SCARRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
